Wow the cocktails here definitely pack a punch.  They don't look that impressive when they come out if you are an alcoholic like me, but they do the job well.

I like the creativity they have in the drink options, and there's probably something there for everyone.  

The food too was really good.  The frites were perfectly crunchy, the gnocchi was al dente as it should be, and the sliders were nice and tasty. Oh yeah the deviled eggs were great too.  Yeah a weird combination for sure, but I guess that's why I felt a bit funky the next morning.

Well that, or the fact that I kept on drinking at Toronado!

I've been coming here for years mostly as part of the student program where the aspiring stylists learn how to become full fledged stylists.  I've had color done as well as cuts and always like coming here.  

Since so many of the folks that have cut my hair have graduated I do stop by for a non-student hair cut from time to time and the full treatment is always pretty plush.

Man this was a bit of a disappointment especially after reading the good reviews on here.

Anyhow, the burger I ordered medium rare came out well done and the onion rings were ridiculous.  Basically they looked like fried pasta the way they were all mangled together.

If I wasn't so hungry I dunno if I would have ate any of them, but hey, you gotta feed the machine...

Well, when I walked into this spot I was feeling slightly apprehensive due to the overwhelming amount of little league kids and families - not that I hate them, but I knew it'd be loud and noisy.

Luckily I realized there was an outdoor area once I placed my order.  The burgers here are really outstanding - cooked perfectly for Medium Rare too!  The onion rings were some of the best I've had too - just wish this place was in SF and not all the way down in San Mateo - doh!

Nice spot down Valencia off the main section.  I went here primarily to get a burger and b/c I actually had the Element and got rock star parking.

Well the place kinda felt sports bar since people were watching the NBA playoffs but I didn't let that turn me off.  The server was a bit overwhelmed since I guess all four groups must have all sat down at the same time.

Anyhow, I'm more about the food so I got my burger and onion rings.  

The burgers here are pretty good as are the rings.  Cooked pretty well and everything tasted pretty fresh - definitely a good solid burger option!

Had a breakfast burrito craving after finishing a photo shoot of some scientists today and stopped by Alex for one.  They make a great breakfast burrito here - decent size (not too large or drippy), good meat (had the sausage one) and the price is fabulous ($4 includes tax!).

I am not down in the Financial District that much but this is a nice little spot for a quick burrito!

Love this place.  After a few unsuccessful attempts at going on the wrong dates and/or times, I finally went today.  It's tiny but there's some nice music playing and the staff are attentive.  Of course it's the food that's most important and it was definitely a great value and combination of price, portions and taste.  I actually didn't get the beignets this time but look forward to trying them on my next visit.

Being a small local eatery it's definitely the spot to support and I'm glad they are now open on Sundays too!

Man I'm an old school video game and pinball nerd but I stopped by here last night while riding around trying to figure out where to eat dinner.  Anyhow, there were four legs protruding from under a table, and I didn't really care to find out if it was a couple of corpses or some folks sleeping, or just some severed legs.  The guys who worked there were watching TV and seemed a bit jittery when I peeked behind the wall to the area where the legs were.

That's off topic though - as Margie B said, more than half the machines seem to be broken and they have a rag tag grouping of games.  The most interesting one for me was Raiden 2.  Alas, my hunger pangs overwhelmed the urge to play games and I bolted after the walk around of the place...

Hm, I'm on a bad streak, my third two-star rating in a row - hopefully my luck will be changing soon!

Anyhow, I had read and heard good things about the burgers here but really can't give them more stars since the burger I had - while it was Niman Ranch - didn't have that flavor to it that most Niman Ranch beef I've had has.  The burger was a bit small but then I didn't go for the double decker - perhaps that was my problem?!

Well I also ordered a side of onion rings which ended up being like six onion rings which seems a bit weak for $2.45 extra.

Anyhow, I remember when this place was Midori Mushi and hadn't been there since.  I do like the upstairs and the bathroom was incredibly clean!

Can't see what everyone loves since the food that I got (super burrito) and my friend got (super nachos) wasn't up to what others have posted about.  Not sure if we caught them on a bad day or what, but things were not tasty and somewhat bland.

Hopefully it was just an off day, but that was my experience there this weekend...
