Man this was a bit of a disappointment especially after reading the good reviews on here.

Anyhow, the burger I ordered medium rare came out well done and the onion rings were ridiculous.  Basically they looked like fried pasta the way they were all mangled together.

If I wasn't so hungry I dunno if I would have ate any of them, but hey, you gotta feed the machine...

Gordo's is pretty close to my house. For that, I may give it another 1/2 star for convenience. Which is a plus in my book. I've been two times since I moved back to Creek.

First time: I went with the new roommate. We both got burger, fries and milkshake. Woah, that was a good milkshake. Now, I do not normally order milkshakes (very bad for you!!!), but my roommate is a bad influence and I am weak right now. My burger had mushrooms and swiss cheese on it. Nothing terribly special, but it was better than McDonalds and the like. Plus our server was terribly entertaining behind the counter in the way he would ignore customers standing at the register. (Very rude I know, but still of entertaining...hoping Karma doesn't come around for this). I did see a few people leave in frustration because he couldn't shake his tootsie and help them out. Luckily my roommate and I had pretty good service there. If we hadn't, Things would be much worse for Gordos.

Second time: I decided on a drive by to pick up and take my order home. It was wednesday night, and Top Chef was on. I had to get home. So, I opted for the chicken mushroom burger instead of a normal beef burger. The chicken was huge!!! The mushrooms were very tasty and lovely. I ordered a salad and fries to go with. The fries was crispy and fine. No problems there. The salad had a TON of salad dressing on it. Pretty much just a little bit of lettuce and a cherry tomato. Nothing terribly interesting. The chicken on the other hand...was very good. I would get the grilled chicken again.

Awesome burgers.  My favorite place to go for my favorite food.  There are a lot of places that claim to have better tasting stuff, but they don't even compare.  The meat is of a much better quality, and the seasoning is just right.  You definitely get what you pay for.

Check out Mo's grill in SF.  This place has the exact same menu and food.  Hopefully they are owned by the same person or one of these places is a poser.  The food here, however, is a few dollars cheaper and it includes fries.  The burgers are very good and the breakfast at the table next to me didn't look bad.  I can't eat this everyday because I am already fat enough.  I had the western with bacon here.  Next time I plan I getting a burger with no sauce so I can savor the meat.  Don't forget to hold the mayo.  Mayo and hamburger doesn't go together unless its mayo, ketchup, and relish mixed together.

I'm not too big on the burgers here, but the fries are everything that the fries at In-N-Out want to be when they grow up.

Best BLTs ever, and the grilled cheese sandwiches are good too.

Steven G has been driving me nuts about this place since his taste buds discovered it nearly a month ago now. Last night I submitted, "Yes, Steven, get us some burgers from Gordos. The bacon cheese burgers, curly fries, and vanilla milk shakes were all delicious. Exactly as Steven G boasted. Yet for some strange reason I got severe abdominal pain that became bathroom orientated in nature very shortly after eating it. Don't get me wrong, the food was very good and it's reasonably priced. But based on my issues after eating there, I won't be dining there again.

I'm not much for band wagons but the Yelpers that came before me and my nose led me here.  The claim of having the "best burgers" is literally written all over artistic murals depicting Walnut Creek life in the 50's.  I thought to myself either they THINK they have the best burgers or they actually do!  Given that my fellow Yelpers have awarded them a unanimous 5 stars, the latter is more likely.

The joint wasn't packed at all so I was a bit worried but then again it was a rainy day and people usually stay away (ooh that rhymed!).  I waited for a little bit behind a guy who seriously didn't need the three or four burger meals he ordered, hope it wasn't all for him!  After about five minutes or so I was greeted by a nice young lady behind the counter and my order was on it's way to be crafted.  I ordered a Bacon Beef Burger ($7.00) with cheese ($1.00), substitute Regular Fries with Curly Fries ($1.00), and to wash it down a Vanilla Old Fashioned Milkshake ($3.50).  I know this sounds like a hefty meal but it was my splurge day so BACK OFF!

The burger was huge, full of flavor, not dry for being well-done, a first class combination of beef, bacon, and cheese!  I was also quite pleased with the curly fries although the concept does get a little tiring.  The perfect finale to this artery clogging nightmare was a shake made from yummy Foster Farms Vanilla Ice Cream, right up there with the best milkshakes I've downed in my life.

I'm coming back but not as soon as I would want.  This'll have to be a once-a-month thing or bi-monthly just so my body can recover.  Gawd, the treadmill is calling my name!!!!!!

Best burgers in NorCal.  I've probably had them all, too.   Great western bacon burger.  They do medium rare right, which is awesome.  They have great onion rings and perfect fries.  Service is always friendly and fast, too.  Plus, the prices are great!   Good bakery next door, as well.

I am starting to feel disappointed by overly generous Yelp reviews, but to each their own I suppose. You can read Kymberli C.'s review, I was with her so I feel exactly the same way and no need to repeat it.

I willl, however, add that the garden salad was lacking & the fries may have once been freshly cut from a potato, but were at some point after that, frozen. I did not know a salad could fail to be good???

I will give the benefit of the doubt, but actually 2.5 stars.

We LOVE Gordo's Hamburgers.  I gave up eating ground meats or processed meats back in 1998 when I read about all the crap found in our food systems.

However, when I became pregnant a few months ago the only craving I had was hamburgers and more hamburgers.   Thankfully my husband found Gordo's right by our house - the first burger I've had in 9 years!!!  I trust them because their meat is the freshest and you can taste it!   Everything is top of the line - it is amazing to me that I can get a cheeseburger and fries there for only $8 at such quality!!  It is the ONLY place I will go to get a burger...and I think I'll get one right now.

Also, they have great breakfasts and chicken sandwhiches (one sandwhich is 2 meals for me)!!!

I work at WAMU and went over there on my lunch break just to check it out, not knowing anything about it and boy was i pleasantly surprised!

the burger was literally the best burger i can remember having in a long time.  the bun was a soft and toasted and made of good bread.  the meat was perfectly cooked medium-rare and the vegetables were fresh and tasty.  there was some sort of special sauce on the burger that i could have done without, cause i prefer the taste of meat not sauce, but it was still a good sauce.. just not my thing.

i got the tex-mex burger, which if you like spicy, you will enjoy this burger.. grilled onions and jalapenos give it a nice bite.

they were out of curly fries, but the regular fries were what i enjoy.. thin, crispy and a little salty and plenty of em!

the price was very decent for food of this caliber.

normally i work in lafayette, but twice now, have burned half my lunch break driving out there just to get an awesome burger

check em out!

Background - Vals was the first to give me a burgasm. Since that night, I cant stop feening for that wet juiCy melt in your mouth experience. I left his place so satisfied - I walked out with a limp. But see the thing is, long distance relationships don't work well for me. I hate long drives - so I had to look for somewhere else to relieve the itch. I turned to my bestfriend yelp who told me about Gordo's -4.5- and he lives near by.  Some of his X's had bad experiences, but the others cant forget about him. Since he looked available on a Saturday afternoon, I passed by hoping he'd give me some relief..

He looked cute.. Tattooed skin turned me on and the hospitality made me stay for a while. I told him what I wanted,  which happend to be some meat and bacon. And I wanted some rings if he had any too. It didnt take him to long give himself up. After about 5 minutes, he laid in a silver plate and I had the option to smother him with 3 types of spicy liquids. From cheap yellow to grey poupon. I put him in my mouth and was disappointed. No matter how much oral I'd give, I just knew he wouldn't retun back the favor. He wasn't as big as I heard he was.. But buns were off the hook. The rings he had on the side were mediocre at best. Not only did I spend money to go to him, I feel terrible for cheating on Val. Val.. If ur reading this, I promise I'll make it up the next time I pass by. Gordo - I knew you tried hard and no matter how close you are, it's just not gonna work. It's not you, it's me ... NO it IS you.

4.5 because the best burger is made at home on the bbq grill! Pretty darn close to home though. Grilled not fried....bless that "grilled taste". Excellent fries and I only rate the fries because they come with the burger (ask for fries crispy, takes a minute longer but worth it). Grilled to order...when you ask for medium thats what I got (a big plus IMHO). Friendly service. One of the East Bay's best burger (again IMHO).

These are some good burgers.  Be prepared to pay $10 for a burger, fries, and a drink, but the portions are huge and excellent.  They have a wide selection of burgers, and they also offer a chicken option for each one, which doesn't do anything for me, but probably appeals to some people

I got the Tex-Mex burger with onion rings. My wife got the Teriyaki Chicken Burger with fries.  They were made fresh, and were ready in less than five minutes, which was a big plus. We are lightweights, but we both finished our huge burgers, which speaks to how good they were.  If you're in a burger mood, I think this is the place to go in Walnut Creek.  Good service, good food, good deal.

I was really craving a hamburger today... a nice juicy fat one!  I yelped for a new place to try hamburgers and decided to come here because it had pretty good yelp reviews and my hubby's name is Gordon...  It was completely empty when we arrived except for the workers who seemed to be a family to me.  The tables were only 2 seaters and there were 3 of us so we had to move tables for us to sit and it was REALLY cold in the restaurant, it felt like the air conditioner was on and it was storming outside!  I had the alpine burger with avocado added to it and onion rings and a chocolate milk shake.  The burger was just okay... it was really messy to eat and the hamburger patty wasn't juicy and fat it was really thin... but it was okay.  The onion rings were pretty good and the milk shake was okay but really watery.  My hubby got the chili cheese burger and his chili was cold.  The cheese on top of it was not melting at all.  In the middle of us eating, someone started mopping the floor... and the smell of the cleaner mixed in with my tastebuds while eating my burger.... and also they were having a family argument of some sort and we were still always the only ppl in the restaurant the entire time.

If you are looking for a GREAT place to have an awsome burger Gordos is what you're looking for. It beats Fuddruckers in a heart beat! This family owned location is located in a shopping center next to Rite Aid off of Ygnacio Valley Rd in Walnut Creek, don't let the "dive atomoshere" fool you. The place offters quality ingredients and huge portions without denting your wallet. My favorite is the Chicken Burger with cheese but you can't go wrong with a traditional cheese burger either.  I didn't ask but the fries tasted home made. You order and pay at a register they accept cash and credit and the friendly young staff take the time to bring your meal to you. The place totally made my day. Hope it brings a smile to you too. Thanks for reading. Silvia

When I needed a good burger, I used to go to Fuddrucker's. No more.  This is the best burger I've had in ages AND it's family-owned.  The portions are huge and I'm always full.

My favorite part is that it's so chill that my friends and I will go there and have existential discussions over a tasty tasty burger.

Try the "Belly Buster." It's my favorite.

I moved jobs recently, which took me away from this place. Man, I miss Gordos!

Service is excellent. The owner knew me and always manages to talk with me, if only just a couple sentences.

The burgers are amazing. Burger patties are bigger than the bun (which is already pretty big). When I get the burger with chicken instead, there's a damn huge bit of "chicken overflow" and I can cut off a big chunk of chicken to eat after the burger.  The California burger (beef or chicken) is my favorite. Oh, he uses real sliced avocado -- half the fruit, I think.

The fries are homemade and fresh. Very tasty and he gives you a good amount.

Veering off the burger menu, there are other meals that are equally good and filling. Try the koubidek sandwich. Salads are good and big as well.

Fuddruckers sucks compared to this place. The only reason you wouldn't want to go to Gordos is, like many great burger places, it will make you realize the crap they serve at most other burger places.

Burger, fries, and a drink costs about $10. It's $10 well spent.
