Eh, reviewing another chain-ish restaurant again. But this will be the only one, and it's only to say that this In-N-Out has been the one who has PERFECTED my fries well done!!!
Thank you, Millbrae In-N-Out, for being a dependable joint to get my fries well done. You are friggin awesome.
who wouldnt love In-N-out Burger! They should close down all the other burger spots and have in-n-out at every block........

I ate here twice in one day and was underwhelmed. The fries are excellent, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside -- as long as you get them right out of the fryer. However, the burger was bland. It's a real thin patty on a thick plain bun with lettuce, tomato, and some kind of sauce. I like a simple burger, but this one lacked substance.
The first time I went because I was looking for something close to my hotel and because of the great reviews. I've also heard about In-N-Out burger before, but since there are none in my area, I've never been. Inside it's quite like a classic burger joint with the staff wearing all white with paper hats and red aprons held up by a giant safety pin. The place was packed at dinner time. They had a large staff to keep the food coming at a steady pace, although the wait time was a little long because of the rush. The staff was cheery and helpful.
I ordered a double, no onions, with fries and a drink. I got it to go and ate the tasty fries in the car on the drive back to the hotel. I started to eat the burger when I got back to my hotel. Even though the drive was only 10 minutes, the burger was all greasy and sticking to the paper. It mostly tasted of bread, which was more ample than the two beef patties. I figured it could have been tasteless because I didn't eat it right away.
I was feeling hungry again at midnight and figured I'd give them a second chance. I went through the drive through this time and ordered a single, fires, and drink. This time the fries were obviously the ones sitting around and not fresh -- I did not finish them. The burger was about the same, all bread and no taste. The one good thing about this trip was that the guy at the window walked off to charge my credit card and another guy gave me my food. I forgot about the card and drove to the gas station next door to get something when I realized I didn't have my card. I drove right back to In-N-Out and the attendant greeted me with my card. Nice save.
Perhaps I ate there on a particularly bad day. I consider the Hardee's/Carl's Jr $6 burger -- a meaty, grilled, fresh burger -- to be the best you can get for a fast food burger and this one didn't measure anywhere near that.
I'm rating this at "undecided" and will give it another try on another trip out here and order it "Animal Style" off the secret menu as a friend suggested.

Seriously though...WHO DOESN'T LOVE IN N' OUT!?
I was amazed comparing their nutritional facts to other "restaurants" in the area.... they are one of the healthiest burgers you can get!
I ate there last night...and the 30 minute line at the drive through was TOTALLY worth it. Plus: Three meals, one of which had animal style fries, and two milkshakes cost LESS than $20.00.
That's just unheard of. I'm pretty cheap, even by fast food standards, it's fresh and it tastes really, really good!
Do you need my review of a burger joint after this many reviews?
WELL... frankly.. you got it.
Simple.
Single best hamburger in the world. Not the best I have ever had, buy any means. Hamburger stands, home barbecues, beach grills... all beat it out. But it is the most consistent, exciting, delicious, and wonderful culture and history for (gulp) fast food ever. Great shakes, I love watching the guys chop potatoes. I love the huge safety pins. AND ... I love ordering my #1 LMKO. Always have. And the joy I get from sharing it with midwesterner's, east coasters, and intrepid foreign interlopers?
Pure and total Joy.
I haven't been to one In-N-Out that has let me down Stopped at this one after a family get together dinner that just didn't have enough food to go around. Hit the spot. YUMMAY
With just about everything you can think of is increasing, the Double-Double Cheeseburger meal for $6.00 (including fries and drink) from Millbrae's In and Out is still the best meal deal you can get without putting a severe dent in your wallet.
The line during lunchtime/noon is long and expected, but it's definitely worth it for $6.00.

Finding late-night grub when climbing out of an airplane is hard everywhere on the West Coast, and harder still on the Peninsula.
Kudos to In-n-Out for opening a joint in Millbrae. Near my hotel (both of them in one night... long story), SFO, and the 101.
After 11pm on a weeknight, but the staff were still friendly and chipper, the food fresh and hot, and the fries had a first name: is NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM.
Only down side: it reminded me just how lame Dick's is.
first off never ever come here at 12:10pm on your lunch break. the line is hella long and you'll waste your whole lunch just waiting for the food, and if you only got 30 minutes, forget about it. even though they push you through pretty damn fast it still takes way too long. but thumbs up for moving the line as fast as they do. if it were Jack n the crack you'd be there all frickN day.
as for a fast food joint, the burgers are pretty damn tasty, and the whole secret menu thing is kinda funny, but thumbs down on everything else. their fries SUCK and there shakes aren't that much better. i find myself wanting to grab a burger here then haul ass over to McDonald's for the fries, then off to Dairy Belle for the shake.
oh wellz, ya cant have everything.

If you actually manage to find your way to this In N Out thru the maze of NO U turns and random one way paths, you're in for a treat. Service is fast and consistant (as to be expected) and it's a good place to stuff yourself with food before catching a red eye flight where soggy sandwiches costs you $5.00 and your suitcase costs you $25.
I saw a chubby lady here with her fly down ... I wanted to tell her, but I didn't want to embarrass her. I mean, what do you say?
Coming here also reminded me of the time when I made my friend a coupon for In N Out. They brought out the manager, asked her where she got the "Free burger for your Birthday" coupon and she pointed to me. They asked me where I got it and I said I made it on my computer. They said they wouldn't be able to honor a coupon I made myself, but that they'd give us free food anyway cause it was a birthday. Good times, good times.

SF Vacation Food Stop #4: In-N-Out Burger.
I'm certainly in the cult, here. Best fast food burgers in the world. Can't do a trip to the west coast right without my double-double animal style. If you're like me and unlucky enough to live in a state without one, make sure you take the pilgrimage when you are nearby.
Every time I go to one, they're always crazy busy, but the food comes out quick, hot, and de-licious.
All hail In-N-Out Burger!

It's In-N-Out. You worship it, or you don't. Fortunately for me, I'm in the worshipping camp. Double-double animal style and a Neapolitan shake thankyouverymuch. Not a big fan of their fries, even though they're really fresh.
One of two foods that I CRAAAAVE but can't have because I live in Denver. Always the first stop for us when we come back to the Bay. This location is ridiculously close to the airport (I think strategically placed for those in other areas of the country not blessed with In-N-Outs!
Viva In-N-Out. I adore you.

I don't get it. What's so great about this place? Have eaten here twice but was NOT impressed. Did I go on a bad day? Should I go again? Are you all ordering something I'm not? Because honestly I don't understand the fuss.

YUM. this isn't the only in-n-out or first or anything special about this in-n-out. just happens to be the latest one I've been to.
as fast food goes. in-n-out has got to be one of my favorites. fresh burgers. fresh fries. yummy special sauce.
this one in particular gets superbusy during lunchtime. but if you have ever been to an in-n-out, you know they're almost always busy.
the service here was good, someone came and wiped down our table right before we sat down, which was right after the person before us got up.
You know, it's In-n-Out. No question for good ingredients. 3 star is the best I could give to fast food burgers. :)
i love that this place is a chain, but they still have good old fashion customer service. everyone is polite, speaks english (at least that i spoke to), and the food is yummy. if i wasn't trying to lose weight, i'd eat here more often. props to the double-double and to vanilla milk shake. things they could improve on is a kids menu and why the drive thru line is always too long.
Came here for a group lunch. 2 of us went to neighboring Panera for a 'healthier' sand-salad option...but me and another couldn't resist the lure of 'healthy' fast food...the Golden Boomerang...
I of course had to get the whole shebang ~ veggie burger - animal style with cheese please, fries, and a vanilla shake. Even though I felt a bit self conscious eating with the gals, this meal really hit the spot.
Bonus - staff friendly + space clean too.

Thank you for staying open late and being the provider of strawberry milkshakes in my late hour of need when driving back from the South Bay. I've never really had a bad meal here. But I HAVE had BAD PARKING. The configuration for the drive-thru window creates a massive line of cars that pretty much leaves you stuck in a parking spot forever. If you choose to visit this In-n-Out, park away from the drive-thru line.
Times visited: 20+
I lived in the middle of NOWHERE, New Mexico, for about 4 years. The only thing they had that was remotely close to being anything *californian* was Krispy Kreme, and that was 200 miles away in Albuquerque. Needless to say, I missed my In & Out experiences.
So on breaks, guess who was there...ALL THE TIME. ME! wee!
Unluckily for my gas tank, though, I was forced to go to either Daly City or Mountain View, both of which are the exact distance apart from my location, so both sucked going to. When Millbrae opened, I damn near crapped myself I was so overjoyed.
I have been here for the following meals:
Breakfast
Lunch
Late Lunch
Dinner
Late Dinner
Super Late Dinner.
I always get the same thing: hamburger, ANIMAL STYLE, fries, and water. If I was feeling pretty good and didn't care about complaining about stomaches, I would get a chocolate milkshake. HolyMOLY...thats some good shit.
You can't ever go wrong with this place. I've never been disappointed. The simple menu, the secret menu, the prices, the service, the everything. I had In & Out for lunch today, even! Never. Go. Wrong.
Ever.

I'm not sure what the hype is about In-n-Out Burger. I know it's a CA/west coast institution and all, but I guess it is lost on me.
It's not a bad burger and the fries were good. Nothing special. Maybe I need to be in the "know" and order off the menu like Monster fries or whatever.
It's not a bad place to get a quick burger, but I'm not sure what the big deal is.

I was hoping this in and out would be good, but the burger was really greasy - and that's without any sauce, 'cause I don't like mayo or mustard. Plus, you have to wait 20 damn minutes in your car for some greasy ass burger. Some in and outs are better than others, like the one in Clairemont in San Diego and in Chico, CA, but this burger just doesn't meet up to my expectations. I may as well have went to Wendy's - at least it's not greasy.
This is THE place to come on a Friday night if you're in high school and have a car. Cuz dayamn, you can't drink yet so let's hang out with friends at In N' Out. I've seen so many hyphy people at this location at night. They always give me lulz.
Anyway, In N' Out is the best fast food chain. We all probably know that. In my humble opinion, 1 double double + 1 cheeseburger is the best possible order. Also, a lemon squeezed into your diet coke is delicious.
However, if you're gonna order fries (via #1 or #2 or otherwise), Protip: asking for them "well done" will make them crispy and delicious.
Mmmmmm, nothing like starting out the New Year's right! I'm talking a big 'ol fatty Cheeseburger, animal style (after all, who doesn't like it animal style?), an order of fried potatoes and a vanilla milkshake.
THAT ladies & gentleman is how to break every single New Year's resolution, in one easy, drive-thru transaction.
I did it.
I'm happy I did it.
Sin never tasted so good.

I LOOOOVE In n Out!!! The food is soooo amazingly good! And it is healthier then yucky McDonald's!!! The burger is yummy, and so are the fries! The milkshakes aren't so bad too! The atmosphere is so clean and bright! The bathrooms are always nice too. The service is amazing! The people there are so nice and friendly and they make sure that you are satisfied by your food. The only downer is it is always packed but that is because the food is soooo good!!!!

I virtually never eat fast food burgers. Why, when Val's Burgers is just 10 minutes from my house? Val's grinds their own beef daily, has incredible shakes and fries, plus is so damn cute! However, there are times, when options are few, that fast food fits the bill and you'd give your right arm just for a quick burger.
This is a good place to know about -- especially late at night, when there isn't much open. If you're heading south, this is a convenient stop to get something to fill that gnawing hunger. I like to order the lettuce-wrapped double cheese burger. It is fresh, tasty, and you can specify what you do and don't want on it. I always need extra pepper.
I'm not partial to their fries -- the first one tastes okay, but unless you wolf them down while piping hot, they kind of deflate and taste mealy.
I'm really not a big fan of their shakes -- to me they don't feel cold. They seem like fluffy cups of who knows what, and I'd rather just pass until I can get a great shake (see my "Milk Shakes List" for my favorites).
It's pretty easy on-off the freeway at the Milbrae exit, especially convenient if you're going to/from SFO.

Eh. Their cheeseburger kind of reminds me of Mickey D's. Satisfying, but not awe-inspiring. Their fries are a little shoe-stringy; they might be fresh, but there's not much to them. The redeeming quality of this joint is probably their thick milkshake. It sure brought this boy to the yard.
Give it up, left coast. Five Guys offers superior products, both for its mouthwatering burgers and hefty artery-clogging Idaho potato fries sizzled up in 100% peanut oil.
Just a note - we were here after midnight on a weekend, and the clientele is apparently an odd mix of high school hipster meets shady-looking potential gangsters/thugs. Classy.

I think it's because this location is right off 101 it's so busy. Darn near impossible to spend less than 10 minutes in the drive-thru queue.
At the end of the day, it's not worth the wait. I don't like their fries and their burgers are just average. I don't eat much of any fast food burgers anymore.

Ordinarily I wouldn't bother to review a fast food joint regardless of how much I like it, but I had a very Yelpy experience there last night.
I was so happy when this location opened so I can grab a quick bite on my way to SF, as I did last night. True to their name, easy to access and get on your way with some quality grub. I much prefer this spot to the packed and slightly more thuggish Daly City location.
I'm sitting by myself at a 2-seater table, catching up on my finances and waiting for my order to be called. (Combo #3, only LOMK, fries well done.) At the 4-seater table to my right are two gals and a guy, white, mid- to late-20s. Didn't mean to eavesdrop on their conversation, but I could not help but overhear. One gal is going on about her hormones changing when she hit a certain age and she can't go out and party like she used to. The other gal is concurring but not as talkative.
As they're finishing up their food, the guy declares, "I would eat here again." Then the guy and the talkative gal compare notes on their favorite burger joints. One place talked about served Niman Ranch beef, name not mentioned. Talkative gal misconstrued Niman Ranch as Neiman-Marcus!
They arose to leave. I smiled inwardly. Very Yelpy.
My well-done fries spilleth over. Three Diet Coke refills later I was done.

they work very hard here to pump out your order. its always filled with younger high school kids, can never find a seat inside.
i always meet the most interesting of people here especially when there is some kind event going on in the nearby hotels. A few visits ago I was wearing my "blue wig" and i got invited by a group of outgoing very scifi individuals to go back with them to the hotel...so umm i wont go any further details but it was a fun couple of hours (innocent fun...jeez people)...
Anyways, I would give you 3 stars coz you're good...in n out..you are but not fabulous...the extra star is because I love the scripture verses you put on the cups and stuff.
I think this is a great place. I come here if I don't want to deal with the ghetto crowd at the Daly City In'N'Out. The only problem here? It's really boring. You get a lot of tourist here. At least at the Daly City location, you might bump into someone you know or who won the local High School football game...
Fresh ingredients? check
Toasted bun? check
Tasty fries? check
Cheap? check
Thank you In n Out for satisfying my mid-week burger craving.

I LOVE IN N OUT BURGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't go very often but when I do the service is excellent, the food is AWESOME, and the atmosphere is like a diner in the 50's. The bathrooms are very sanitary. Their burgers are amazing. The service is SUPER fast too except when they are REALLY busy. If you like McDonald's...you're not hard to please, if you try in n out burger you will fall in love and love it WAY more than Micky D's. The ONLY downer is the place is always packed but that just means they are a great fast food place. GO. GET A BURGER. AND FRIES. AND A MILKSHAKE. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
closest to the airport...somebody will take your order as you line up for the drive thru--it's that busy during peak hours. I don't like typical fast food, but I eat here, even if it is hyped up a little. for the not-so-secret menu, go for animal style

Its one of the few places that I will not think twice about throwing my on and off 'healthy eating' habits out the window. Throw some grilled onions on it and I'm in heaven. Its makes road trips through California+Arizona+Nevada so much more fun (and delicious!)
I love the ol' in and out.
I like the in-n-out hamburger chain too.
I usually associate this place with trips to L.A. or out of town of SF, (i am vehically challenged), i like to get the burger 'animal style' and a choco shake to wash it all down.
But the 'real kicker' to this place is looking inside the bottom lip of their cups of soda or shakes, IT SAYS 'JOHN :316'....for those who don't believe me, you check next time. But does the fact that this chain is ran by a bunch of bible-thumping christians stop me from coming here?
HELL'S NO!
Usually not a fan of burgers or slabs of meat in general, but In-N-Out cheeseburgers just hit the spot every now and then. The vegetables are very fresh, the meat doesn't smell like processed cow, and the bread is crispyjustright. I usually just get fries animal style, and mMmMmMmmmMmmmmm it's very filling + more. I also had my first In-N-Out vanilla milkshake this summer and oh em effin orgasmic g. This shit is like the best vanilla ice cream oozing down your esophagus and coating your intestine with happy sheep bleating and all kinds of trippy shit like that.
The restaurant is always ridiculously crowded tho', and hitting up the Millbrae one at midnight on a Friday was like getting lost in a teenaged munchies fest. Going drive-thru at any time of the day is at least a 15-20 minute wait.
Here's some info about the 'secret menu':

This is THE In - N - OUT burger that was
featured in the A&E TV show "DOG the Bounty Hunter" when he was looking for this Samoan fugitive guy.
DOG's crew was REALLY lucky. The Millbrae In -N-Out is the Samoan/Tongan "Lion's Den". The heavy hitters, and young thugs all frequent this place...especially on Thursday/Friday nights.
I was so shocked to see DOG the Bounty Hunter come out there! He's got some balls!
My ex-coworker(He's one of those asian yuppie guys you'll find hanging out at REI..who is joining the other 10 thousand asian people who think they're being adventurous and climbing yosemite's half-dome. SO ORIGINAL.)...would ignorantly go to this IN and OUT burger on Thursday nights and not realize it was the lions den.
I politely warned him, that he should probably go there on other days and go during the day time.
He was smart...and stays away from this place during those nights. I hope he's also smart enough to not do the other homogenous asian yuppie stuff and avoid half dome, river rafting, buying a bmw 3 series, getting an iphone, and talking about work at dinner.
I digress.
Oh..btw..the IN an out burgers are decent.
Avoid Thursdays/Friday nights.
